Ilya Fedotov-Fedorov, is an interdisciplinary artist based in New York, with a background in genetic bioengineering and philology, working with themes of queerness, human ecology, and corporeal metamorphosis. In his video work, Fedotov-Fedorov employs a choreography based on the movements of insects, mollusks, and reptiles to blur the perceptible boundary between the Human and the Other. Similarly, in his work with installation, sculpture, painting, and other media, Fedotov-Fedorov dismantles social constructs that obstruct self-identification outside the realm of normality.
