Ian Ha's work is practice in spatial illusion with paintings that have multiple- dimensional qualities. Ha's work attempts to reflect on the amount of disjointed information and overstimulation this generation faces. Each painting is a random assemblage of things he encounters creating a dynamic collage. The images gathered are often trivial, a commentary on how our media bombards us without filter or much control. Ha frequently incorporate abstract, transcendental spaces into paintings. These dreamlike realms are depicted as surreal scenery where fragments of space-time coexist in one imagery.
