Shust explores the relationship between ritual, discipline, and escapism. Intrigued by modern polysemy, informational intoxication, and the ancient desire for oblivion he reflects on how the mythological overlaps with technological. Being inspired by the sacral concept of the human mind incorporation into a global system, Shust addresses the idea of spiritual ecology. The artist has a multidisciplinary approach and works in the field of installation using a variety of mediums.

Since 2012 Shust has collaborated with the Museum of Contemporary Art GFZK (Leipzig), Contemporary Art Museum S.M.A.K. (Ghent), Museum de Domijnen (Sittard), Mystetskyi Arsenal (Kyiv), Calvert 22 Foundation (London), Badischer Kunstverein (Karlsruhe), Blaffer Art Museum (Houston, Texas) and other galleries. He took part in the 5th Biennale for Young Art (Moscow, Russia), 14th Baltic Triennial, CAC (Vilnius) and 4th Art Encounters Biennial (Timișoara).
